Danger Signals
MAYDAY is used when a boat is in danger and seeks urgent assistance.
PAN PAN is used to indicate that an urgent message must be sent regarding the safety of the crew or the vessel.
SECURITE is a warning signal indicating that a coastal or radio station is about to emit a message regarding meteorological or navigational warnings.
